Moar Ponies!

In regards to the anonymous "post moar ponies" comment I received yesterday, I shall. First of all, you're probably wondering if I am a brony. If you have been living under a rock for the past few months and have no idea what a brony is, a brony is an adult male, usually 18-35, that watches the animated series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. There is the female equivalent of this, pegasisters. Now, the title, brony, sometimes has the undesired effect of making anyone who bears it seem creepy, and many people believe us to be obsessed over the show. But blame that on small-minded people, who can't accept anything outside of what they deem "normal". Like the morons at Fox News, when they attacked the fandom. A video of which, if you can stand it, can be found here.

The answer is, yes. Yes, I am a brony. In that I watch the show, but I am not obsessed over it, as the social stigma that comes with that title would have you believe. I watch the show because it's well written, entertaining, and funny (Thank Lauren Faust for that). Some episodes I prefer over others. The really, REALLY girly ones I often have a hard time sitting through. But the episode usually end up sucking you into it, and holding your attention. Which is what good shows do. The characters are probably what makes the show so good. Even though there are many, many different ponies, they are each very well written and unique. They each have their own unique personalities. Something that isn't very common on TV shows anymore, but that's a story for another time.

So, yes. I am a brony, and I'm not ashamed of it. Neither should any person who is. And people shouldn't be skeeved out by the fact that a large number of guys watch a show that was made for little girls. Though, I can see why they might have a hard time accepting it when I put it like that.
